What Foods Can Physically Harm Your Teeth?

One of the best ways to avoid a trip to your dentist is to avoid damaging your teeth. Some foods can cause cracks to form in the enamel and dentin, which can lead to decay and tooth loss. Avoiding these foods will help keep your teeth and gums healthy. 

Here are food types to avoid – or at least be careful with:

–  Popcorn kernels, sunflower seeds, fruit pits, olives with pits.

–  Almonds and macadamia nuts, which are harder than walnuts.

–  Hard breads such as pretzels, baguettes or biscotti.
