The cost of dental implants in Leicestershire
A single dental implant with its crown is a guide price of £4,000 across our practices, including Scraptoft in Leicester, or £3,200 for patients on our membership plan. That covers one tooth, and it does not include bone grafting, which some patients need first.
| Treatment | From | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Single dental implant | £4,000 | Guide price excludes bone grafting where needed, single tooth. Member price is lower. See Membership & Pricing. |
| All-on-4 (per arch) | £20,625 | Member price is lower. See Membership & Pricing. |
What the guide price covers
The figure above buys one tooth: the implant itself, which is a titanium post placed in the jawbone to do the job a natural tooth root used to do, and the crown made in the laboratory to sit on top of it.
Two qualifications sit on that figure: it is a guide rather than a quote, and it excludes bone grafting. Neither is small print. They are why a published number and a real invoice can differ, and you should hear that on a web page rather than in the chair.
What moves the number
Whether the bone is ready. An implant needs enough healthy bone to hold it. Where there is not enough, grafting comes first and is priced on its own, because the amount needed varies so much between cases that publishing one figure would mislead more people than it helped.
Whether the tooth is still there. If a failing tooth has to come out before anything can be placed, that extraction is its own line on our published price list, not part of the implant price.
How many teeth are missing. One implant, one crown is the simple case. Where several adjacent teeth are gone, the restoration on top may be a bridge carried by fewer implants than there are teeth, so the arithmetic stops being one price multiplied by the number of gaps.
A whole arch is a different question
If most or all of the teeth in an arch are missing or failing, counting single implants is the wrong comparison to be making. All-on-4 replaces a full arch on four implants, supporting one fixed bridge, at £20,625 per arch or £16,500 on the membership plan.
Set beside a per-tooth price, that is a different kind of decision, not a bigger version of the same one. We do All-on-4 across the group, and our Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Higham Ferrers practices are recognised as a Nobel Biocare All-on-4 Centre of Excellence, a distinction held by only a handful of practices nationwide.
The membership plan takes 20% off
Every treatment on our price list carries a member price beside the standard one, and implants are no exception: £3,200 rather than £4,000 for a single tooth. The plan benefit is 20% off further treatment, and it applies whether the work is a filling or a full arch. How the plans work.
What you are buying, and over how long
An implant is not a single appointment. The sequence runs like this:
- Consultation. We assess your bone density and gum health, and talk through whether an implant, a bridge or a denture actually fits your case. Sedation is available for anyone who finds treatment difficult; ask when you book.
- Placement. The post goes in, usually in about an hour, under local anaesthetic.
- Healing. Roughly three months, while the bone grows around the implant.
- The crown. We take impressions, the laboratory makes your crown, and it is fitted onto the implant once it is ready.
Every implant we place is covered by our three-year guarantee, with an option to extend it when that period ends. Terms are available in practice.
Worth saying plainly: an implant is one of the more expensive things we do, and it is not the right answer for everyone. A consultation is where that gets decided, not a price list.
Questions this guide answers
Is that a quote or a guide price?
A guide. It is the published figure for a straightforward single tooth, and it is what most people want to know before they book anything. Your own price is settled at consultation, once we have looked at your bone and your gums and know exactly what the case needs.
Does the price include the crown?
Yes. For a single tooth the figure covers the implant placed in the jaw and the crown made in the laboratory to sit on it. What it does not cover is bone grafting, and it does not cover removing a failing tooth if one is still there.
What happens if I need a bone graft?
An implant needs enough healthy bone to hold it. Where there is not enough, grafting comes first and is priced separately, because how much is needed varies too widely to publish a single figure honestly. We will tell you at consultation whether it applies to you.
Is there anything less expensive than an implant?
Yes. A bridge or a denture can replace a missing tooth for less, and both sit on our published price list with a member price beside them. Which one suits you depends on how many teeth are missing and how permanent you want the result.
Can I have implants at any of your practices?
Yes. We use the same Nobel Biocare implant system at all five practices, and implant treatment across the group is led by our principal dentist, so where you go is a question of what is convenient for you rather than what is available.
